Orbitz Rewards and Hotel Listings Details - Orbitz online reservations and customer service--go elsewhere!

I used Orbitz to book a flight and a hotel in a foreign country. Before I even left, I had issues with Orbitz. I should have seen it as an omen. I didn't know what Orbitz reward points were when I booked, so I lost out on the chance to claim them. After contacting Orbitz they would not retroactively credit my account even after an email discussion over several days. In fact, I felt like the Orbitz agent was playing dumb. I don't know why they wouldn't want to credit me with their own rewards points to keep me coming back... Anyway, when I got to the hotel on the Island, I quickly found out there was no shuttle to the airport or internet in the rooms. Those two reasons were why I booked with that particular hotel in the first place. So after quite a bit of anxiety from the inability to get to the airport, and the even worse anxiety from the inability to get online and check flight status, details, and my pick up from the airport, I just decided it wouldn't be so bad to live on the island the rest of my life and calmed down a little. The hotel was helpful and helped my book a taxi and that only cost me an extra twenty bucks. (When it should have been free. Thanks Orbitz) I survived, and when I got back home, I did a little more research and found out Orbitz was either misinformed, or just plain unknowledgeable of the hotels they list. You may ask, "Have you talked to Orbitz customer service about your rough trip?" To which I would respond, "I have been down that road before, and it doesn't go to a happy place." I'm going to New Zealand in a month and possibly a few other locations around the world in the next year. Guess who I would suggest not booking with? If you do decide to use Orbitz, keep an eye out for the elusive rewards claim button or whatever it is, and fact check their listings.
